Key Kapu leaders skip caste meet in Vizag

Kapu unity is the buzzword in AP politics these days. Several attempts are being made to bring the Kapus together on one political platform so that the Kapus get to sit at the driving seat of AP politics.

While Pawan Kalyan is trying to project himself as the voice of the Kapus, there is another attempt to unite Kapus.

Kapu intellectuals and retired bureaucrats from the community are working hard to bring all Kapus under one roof. They are holding a series of conclaves to bring all Kapus together.

A key meeting was recently held in Hyderabad. Later, another important meeting was held in Amaravati.  If sources are to be believed, there was yet another meeting of the Kapu leaders in Vizag.

But, the attendance at the Vizag meet is said to be quite thin. Some of the leaders, who attended the earlier meetings, have reportedly absented themselves from the Vizag meet.

For instance, Vangaveeti Radhakrishna, who attended the Hyderabad meeting, was not seen in Vizag. It is not known if he himself skipped the meet or if he was not sent an invitation.

A former top cop, who played a key role in the earlier meets, too was not seen in the meeting. His absence too has become a hot topi of discussion.

The problem is several Kapus are beginning to feel that this is an attempt to indirectly help the ruling YSRCP.  The YSRCP, on the other hand, feels that this is an attempt by the TDP to cut into the YSRCP support base.
