Former IPS Officer & BJP Leader Kiran Bedi was appointed as Lieutenant Governor of Puducherry on Sunday.
A communication from Rashtrapati Bhavan says President Pranab Mukherjee is pleased to appoint Kiran Bedi as the Lieutenant Governor. It also adds, The Ex-IPS is free to choose when she would be assuming charges of her office.
Responding on the responsibility on her shoulders, Kiran Bedi said she is here to serve the Nation and try to do her best every day. She also claims to be grateful to the trust Government have on her.
In the recently concluded Assembly polls, Congress-DMK Alliance won 17 out of 30 seats to form the Government in Puducherry. While AIADMK won four seats, BJP failed to bag at least one seat.
Kiran Bedi was the CM Candidate of BJP in Delhi Assembly polls. However, Luck didn't favor her and AAP retained Power.
