Janagam Or Uppal, Which Of These Will Be Kodandaram's Constituency

Update: 2018-08-01 06:59 GMT
Once a close associate of chief minister KCR, Prof Kondandaram is today counted among his bitterest critics. He has questioned KCR's policies and politics in no uncertain terms and has earned KCR's wrath. Now, the former T JAC chief has formed Telangana Jana Samithi to fight KCR. Prof Kodandaram has also announced that his party would contest all the seats in Telangana.

One interesting question everyone is asking is where will he contest from? The professor is from Adilabad and it was initially felt that he would fight the polls from Mancheriyal, where coalmine voters would play a key role. Kodandaram, one might recall, has considerable following among the coalmine workers.  But, the party sources say that Kodandaram is keen to contest from either Jangam or from Uppal. Jana Samithi leaders feel Janagam MLA Muttireddy Yadagiri Reddy is hugely unpopular and the people might not vote for him. Also, this is a Reddy dominated constituency and Prof Kodanda Reddy being a Reddy will have the caste advantage too. In case, Yadagiri Reddy is not renominated by the TRS, he might align with Kodandaram  and ensure his victory.

But  Janagam is also the burrough of Congress leader Ponnala Lakshmaiah and in case Kodandaram does not want to fight him, he might move to Uppal, which is part of the Greater Hyderabad and has an educated voter base. This could help Kodandaram to a great extent. Let's see which constituency he choses.
