In the first signs of rebellion within the Congress Party in Telangana, Nalgond MP Komatireddy Venkat Reddy has said that the PCC chief's post was sold to Revanth Reddy by Congress affairs incharge Manickam Tagore. Speaking after reaching Hyderabad, a visibly angry Komatireddy, who made a strong bid for the PCC chief's post till the last, said that the Telangana Congress Committee has now become TDP Congress Party.
He said he would not step into the TPCC headquarters Gandhi Bhavan from now on. He said though he has been loyal to the party for over 35 years, his claims were ignored and turncoats from the TDP were given the top post. He asked the party leaders not to try to meet him. He said the real workers of the Congress Party were ignored and turncoats were being encouraged. He dared Revanth Reddy to show his strength by winning the Huzurabad bypoll. He said the Congress may not even secure its deposit in Huzurabad bypoll.
Significantly, Komatireddy was careful enough not to criticize either Sonia Gandhi or Rahul Gandhi. But, he was very critical about Manickam Tagore. Meanwhile, senior leaders such as former MLA K Lakshma Reddy, Marri Sasidhar Reddy too have raised a banner of revolt against the appointment of Revanth Reddy. Several other leaders too are likely to come out into the open in the coming days.
