Ruling Telangana Rashtra Samiti (TRS) is continuing its winning spree. TRS on Thursday bagged its first seat in the ongoing local body MLC elections TRS leader Konda Muralidhar Rao has been elected unanimously from Warangal with all other candidates in the fray withdrew their nomination
Five independent candidates and the opposition Congress or TDP-BJP combine opted out of the fray as they do not have sufficient votes even if they contest. With this Murali emerged victorious.
Konda Murali joined the TRS before the last general elections along with his wife Ms Surekha, who was subsequently elected as MLA from Warangal East Assembly constituency
The TRS party president KCR reportedly promised him of giving MLC ticket at the time of joining into the party from YSRCP. KCR stood by his promise and offered him seat.The TRS is expecting similar wins in most of the 12 seats where elections are scheduled for 27 December.
