TRS Trying To Whip Up Anti-Andhra Passions

Update: 2018-10-28 09:43 GMT
Two years ago, the TRS sounded quite conciliatory and friendly towards the settlers. Then they wanted to win GHMC, where the settlers call the shots. KCR’s daughter Kavitha even went to the extent of celebrating Bhogi, a typically Andhra festival. But, now all that is a thing of past. The TRS now wants to invoke the anti-settler rhetoric once again.

The reason for this is that the going seems to be not great for the TRS in the runup to the elections. There is an nati-TRS wave building up and the Opposition is picking up pace.  The confidence that their tally would touch 100 seat mark is vanishing. So, to turn the tide, the TRS is now pulling out the anti-Andhra rhetoric out of the closet. Their decision is prompted by unfavourable reports. They are now talking more of Chandrababu Naidu's TDP and its pact with the Congress. They are now saying that if the Congress-TDP combine comes to power, the people of Telangana will have to go to Amaravati to address their issues. They are also parroting that the wealth of Telangana would find its way to AP.

KCR's son KTR has gone a step ahead and has started bringing up the issue of Telangana dialect. He said that the films made by Andhra film makers have insulted the Telangana dialect by making only villains and comedians speak it. " Now film heroes speak in Telangana dialect," he said.

But, KTR conveniently forgot the fact that places in AP like Peddapuram and Chilakaluripet have been derided and Srikakulam dialect is insulted even now. But, politicis is nothing but whipping up passions and sentiments. KTR is doing it to the full.
