The proposal to make Telangana Minister of state for MA&UD, Industries, and IT&C and TRS working President Kalvakuntla Taraka Rama Rao as the next Chief Minister of Telangana has been hitting the headlines over the past few weeks.
The proposal is getting the required momentum with several legislators of the ruling Telangana Rashtra Samithi(TRS) supporting the move and extending their support to make KTR the next C.M.
It has to be noted that, earlier Telangana Health Minister Etela Rajender and Deputy Speaker of Telangana Legislative Assembly T. Padma Rao Goud announced that KTR will be made the CM anytime soon.
These revelations from the ruling party have added fuel to the media reports that serving Chief Minister Kalvakuntla Chandrashekhar Rao, who has his eyes on national politics will shift his focus to Delhi by making his son the CM.
Amid this, it is said that KCR wants to make KTR his successor after the much-anticipated elections, the Graduate MLC elections, and the Nagarjunasagar Assembly by-elections. The Nagarjuansagar elections are expected to be held with other by-elections.
The TRS which win the general elections for two consecutive terms faced a brutal shock with the election result of the Dubbak by-election and Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation (GHMC) elections.
While the TRS has lost the sitting MLA post with Dubbaka, the party was restricted to 55 seats out of the 150 seats. In the previous elections, TRS has won 99 seats quite comfortably.
Though the TRS has emerged as the single largest party by winning 55 seats, the phenomenal growth of the saffron party BJP is expected to be a potential threat in the Nagarjunasagar Assembly by-elections too.
Taking all these points into consideration, KCR reportedly wants to make KTR the next Chief Minister after the commence of these elections. It is said that he will be made the Telangana boss irrespective of the election result.
On the other hand, it is also said that KCR, who is a stern believer in astrology is in plans for the shift in leadership in a few months as there is no good 'Muhurat' for this.
According to the media reports, the leaders who played a crucial role in the Telangana agitation movement will be given appropriate positions in the next Cabinet Expansion.
