Sri Lankan cricketer Kumar Sangakkara retired from International cricket on Monday with the closure of Second Test Match against India.
Within minutes after his farewell Test has come to an end, Sri Lankan President Sirisena offered Kumar Sangakkara the post of country's High Commissioner to United Kingdom. He also described the Legend as the great face for the country and claims he takes immense pleasure in offering the top post. Kumar Sangakkara, however, is yet to take a call on whether to accept the offer or refuse it.
Virat Kohli presented a signed jersey to Kumar Sangakkara and wished he have a bright future during the presentation ceremony. Sangakkara thanked Kohli & Indian Team for touching gestures and also congratulated Team India for coming back strongly to level the series.
During his farewell speech, A teary-eyed Sangakkara said: "I'm blessed with a wonderful family. When I look up at the box, people that I've known for 30 years, family, friends, everyone is here. To see that they love me is great and it will be my greatest achievement".
