Update: 2018-07-24 16:55 GMT
Within months after his swearing-in ceremony, Karnataka Chief Minister HD Kumaraswamy imposed restrictions on media. An order has been based to refrain media persons from entering Vidhana Soudha, the state assembly.

CMO defended the shocking move citing frequent visits of media personnel affects work routines of Ministers and Officials of the Secretariat. Director General (DG) was asked to arrange separate enclosures for media outside the Assembly building.

Mediapersons willn't be able to enter the Assembly Premises anymore. Media briefings would happen only if Ministers or Officials working in Secretariat intend to speak something.

For the first time ever, Such a tough call has been taken by a Karnataka Chief Minister. This could be an attempt to curtail negative campaign against the JD (S)-Congress coalition government.
