In an unfortunate event, a legislator who had tested positive for the novel Coronavirus, succumbed to the Covid-related complications on Saturday, while undergoing treatment.
Congress Legislator Kalawati Bhuriya (49) from Madhya Pradesh, who represents the Jobat Assembly constituency breathed her last during the early hours of Saturday.
The MLA was admitted to the Shalby hospital in Indore and has been undergoing treatment for the past two weeks. Sadly, the treatment couldn't save her and she lost her life.
Former Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister, state Congress chief Kamal Nath offered his condolences to the kin of the family. He called her a hardworking MLA who fought for the people of her constituency.
"I am saddened to hear of the demise of our Congress MLA Kalawati Bhuriya. She was a committed, active, hardworking MLA who was extremely attached to the people of her constituency and always fought for their rights, " Mr. Kamal Nath said.
