Union Government has announced Lucky Grahak Yojana Scheme to encourage people across the country to opt for cashless transactions. In the Mega Draw, Shradha Mengshette who is pursuing Electrical Engineering and hails from Maharashtra won the Rs 1 crore Mega Draw for Consumers. The 20-Year-Old pocketed Rs 1 crore for making a digital transaction of about Rs 1,590 using her RuPay Card to pay Monthly EMI for her new smartphone.
Second Prize of Rs 50 lakh was won by Hardik Kumar from Khambhat in Gujarat. He is teacher of a primary school and used RuPay Card for a transaction of Rs 1,100.
Third Prize of Rs 25 lakh was won by Bharat Singh from Sherpur village in Uttarakhand. He made a payment of just Rs 100.
When it comes to Merchants, Anand Ananthapadmanabham won Rs 50 lakh for accepted payment of Rs 300 at GRT Jewellers in Tambaram, Chennai. Ragini Rajendra Uttekar who runs a beauty parlous in Maharashtra's Thane won second prize of Rs 25 lakh for accepting payment of Rs 510. Shaik Rafi who runs a wholesale clothing store in Telangana's Ameerpet won third prize of Rs 12 lakh for accepting Rs 2,000 on his PoS Machine.
As much as Rs 258 crore was spent by Centre on the two schemes Lucky Grahak Yojana and DigiDhan Vyapar Yojana for a period of 100 Days. About 16 lakh people got directly benefited from these lucky draw schemes.
