Pandemic Dairies: One More Major Company Announces Lay-Offs

India is going through one of the toughest times with the deadly outbreak of the contagious disease as many sectors and fields in the country went through severe losses with this.

Out of the many sectors that faced the wrath of the ongoing pandemic, the employment sector tops the list with many topmost companies and giants sacking its employees to reduce the financial burden.

Now one more company joined the list. Professional networking platform LinkedIn announced that it will sack 960 employees globally with the current situations forcing them to do so.

Out of the 960 employees who will lose their jobs, a majority might be from India as the Linkedin has three offices in India. The 960 employees translate to 6% of the company's workforce.

Linkedin issued an official statement in this regard and said 960 employees working for the company across the globe will be terminated as a bid to reduce the cost-cutting due to the pandemic outbreak.

With this, a lion's share of employees from Sales and Talent Acquisition organizations will have to lose their jobs. The company announced that the employees who lost their jobs will be paid severance pay for 10 weeks and the amount they receive will be varied on the grounds of their designations and tenure of their jobs.
