LK Advani Inches Closer To A Mighty Record

Update: 2019-03-11 07:55 GMT
PM Narendra Modi set 75 Age Limit when it comes to Union Cabinet Berths. Seniors like LK Advani were denied Ministerial Berths citing this rule. However, BJP have no such restrictions when it comes to party candidates for Lok Sabha Polls.

LK Advani has been representing Gandhi Nagar Constituency in Gujarat since 1991. He is currently the oldest member of the Lok Sabha at 91 years.

If Advani contest in the 2019 Polls, Advani willn't only be the oldest candidate to contest Lok Sabha Polls ever but also gets an opportunity to beat the record set by JD (U) leader Ram Sunder Das who was 93 years when he completed his term as MP. Advani will attain the age of 96 if he gets elected as MP in 2019 and completes the full term.

Senior BJP Leaders Murali Manohar Joshi (84), Shanta Kumar (85), Kalraj Mishra (77) and Bhagat Singh (77) may also contest in the upcoming Lok Sabha Polls.
