In a shocking incident, Lok Sabha Speaker Om Birla has tested positive for coronavirus disease (Covid-19) on the 19th of this month. After coming in contact with the pandemic he was admitted to the AIIMS.
According to the media reports, the Lok Sabha Speaker was admitted to the AIIMS facility on the 20th of March, a day after testing positive for Covid-19 for observation.
The media reports quoted the AIIMS facility as saying Om Birla was admitted to the centre on March 20 for observation. His health condition is stable now and his parameters are showing as normal.
On the other hand, fresh Coronavirus infections are increasing at an alarming level and in the past 24 hours, India reported the highest slump in fresh cases since November last year.
India added not less than 43,846 new infections in the past 24 hours taking the total infections in the country to a whopping 1,15,99,130. Surpassing the 3 lakh mark, India's active cases rose to 3,09,087.
