Its known that Star India Pvt. Ltd announced acquisition of popular Telugu television channel network Maa TV. The deal has been closed for undisclosed but for a massive price. But latest reports reveal that all assets in MAA Broadcasting Services(MTNL) have been sold out and the deal is touted to be worth above Rs 2500 crores.
Maa TV commenced its operations in 2002 and it taken over by Nimmagadda Prasad and his associates in 2007. The promoters were estimated to have invested over Rs 130 crore in the network.
MTNL's four channels are Maa Gold, Maa Music, Maa Cinema and Maa general entertainment. Star India is second in the country in the entertainment business and the merger will only work in favour of the audiences
