The Winter session of Parliament was started on a heated note after a long pending issue reached the house. A Lok Sabha member raised the issue in the house and asked the union government to step in. The legislator said that the issue is sensitive and crucial.
It is known that Maharashtra and Karnataka have some border issues and both states often fight over a few things. The issues go back a few decades. When the states were divided a few issues were not addressed by the then-union government and this proved costly.
The issues between Maharashtra and Karnataka popped up again after a few vehicles with Maharashtra registration were reportedly attacked at the Karnataka border. The political heat was raised by this.
As the Parliament sessions started today, Nationalist Congress Party (NCP) MP Supriya Sule raised the issue in the house. Saying that the new issue has been going on for the past few days, the Lok Sabha member alleged that the Karnataka Chief Minister is adding fuel to the issue.
Saying that both Maharashtra and Karnataka are ruled by the BJP, the Lok Sabha member asked Union Home Minister Amit Shah to intervene to sort out the issues. She alleged that people from Maharashtra are being beaten up at the border.
"For the past 10 days, a new issue has cropped up in Maharashtra. The CM of our neighbouring state, Karnataka has been speaking nonsense. Yesterday, people of Maharashtra wanted to go to the Karnataka border but they were thrashed," the Lok Sabha member said.
