Maharashtra might go for strict lockdown if Covid-19 infection goes on mounting!

Update: 2021-03-23 14:41 GMT
The infections related to the Coronavirus pandemic are mounting up in Maharashtra day by day. Even the partial lockdowns have also failed to contain the ongoing respiratory disease.

Amid this tough situation, Maharashtra Health Minister Rajesh Tope said that Chief Minister Uddhav Thackeray is worried about the situation in the state and he is in the opinion of imposing a strict lockdown to curb the infections.

However, the Health Minister said the state responded well to the Coronavirus situation in the state and coming to the pandemic cases per million, several states are going through the worst condition.

The Minister who met the Chief Minister recently quoted the CM as saying: If the state continues to report the fresh infections at the same range then we have no option left except for going for a strict lockdown.

Citing the Chief Minister's opinion, the Minister urged everyone to follow the appropriate Covid-19 behavior like wearing facemask and maintaining physical distance outdoors as the cases are increasing rapidly.

The Health Minister's hint at stricter lockdown came when Maharashtra's Covid-19 caseload surpassed the 2.5 million mark after the state witnessed over 24,000 new pandemic infections in the past 24 hours.
