Maharashtra Police Arrange Selfie Points For Lockdown Violaters

Following the rapid rise of the positive cases of novel coronavirus, the lockdown was extended till the 3rd of May so that the condition gets under control. Despite all these measures, people are not understanding this and stepping out of their houses violating the lockdown rules.

The Maharashtra police came up with a brilliant idea to teach those violators a lesson. The cops were posting pictures of the violators on social media to publicly shame them.

Out of the violators', most of them are turned out to be educated youth, employees and even teachers who are in a respectable position. To the picture, the cops are giving descriptions as 'I am an irresponsible citizen and selfish person'.

To date, 40 violators were caught by the cops and the pictures of all the violators were posted on social media with the caption.

'To punish such people, we created some selfie points with the message I am irresponsible, I am selfish'. The offenders are asked to click a selfie there and it is then posted on the Facebook page of police,' Kolhapur Superintendent of Police Abhinav Deshmukh said.

'One can understand if a labourer or daily wager comes out of home in search of work or food for his family. But these people are coming out for morning and evening walks, which is a very irresponsible behaviour at this crucial time,' he added.
