Gunmen who were assigned the duty to protect the Legislator reported to the office because of the shocking decision. Even the attempts made by Police Officers to convince the MLA about the necessity to provide security for him hasn't yielded any results.

As per media reports, MLA sent back the gunmen to express his disappointment over the style of functioning of high level police officer in Ongole. It's been speculated that the Top Cop hasn't responded properly when the Legislator had come to meet him formally.
While speaking to his close pals, Maheedhar Reddy conveyed someone like him who is at the service of people doesn't need gunmen. When media contacted him, He clarified: 'I submitted my licensed revolver in the police station before elections. It was returned to Me after the elections. Providing Gunmen is a burden on Government'.
