Few months back Rumors are rife that Mahesh Babu will be seen in a special role in the period bio-pic Rudramadevi directed by Gunasekhar. It was also reported that the superstar even threw a sword on Anushka which the actress failed to dodge and injured herself. However, a source close to Mahesh has quashed all these reports and said that actor is not doing any cameo in the film.

Sources said that by considering the repeated requests from his director friend Gunasekhar, Mahesh Babu accepted to play the role and offered his dates in December. Grapevines said that Mahesh Babu will be playing an important role of Gona Ganna Reddy . Mahesh Babu and Gunasekhar are sharing great bond and they worked together for Okkadu, Arjun and Sainikudu
However ,It was not a confirmed news, an official announcement is awaited regarding Mahesh role in the 3D historic film, which simultaneously made in Telugu and Tamil languages.
