In a major jolt to the fledgling YSRTP of YS Sharmila, her key associate and party spokesperson Indira Shobhan has resigned from the party. On Friday, she forwarded her resignation to YS Sharmila. If sources are to be believed, Indira Shobhan might join the Congress Party. She is known to be a supporter of TPCC chief Revanth Reddy.
Indira Shobhan joined Sharmila's party only on March 4. She was immediately appointed the party's spokesperson. She was a permanent fixture in YS Sharmilaâs company. She has been at the party for nearly five months. Sources say that Indira Shobhan was finding herself ill at ease in Sharmila's party. She was pushed to one corner on the dais several times. For quite some time, Indira Shobhan was feeling marginalized in the YSRTP.
She is the second major leader to leave the YSRTP. In the past, senior leader Pratap Reddy of Mahabubnagar had resigned from the party. Now, Indira Shobhan has followed suit. Sources say she is likely to join the Congress Party. In fact, Indira is a known Revanth Reddy loyalist and she had told in no uncertain terms to TPCC incharge Manickam Tagore to make Revanth the PCC chief. She is on record saying that there would be no future to the Congress if Revanth is not made the PCC chief.
She is the second major leader to leave Sharmila's party. Earlier, Mahabubnagar district leader and senior party functionary Pratap Reddy too has resigned from the party recently. Both these resignations are seen as a major setback to the fledgling YSRCP.
