Major win for Ratan Tata in Tata vs Mistry case, says verdict is a validation of the values

The Supreme Court's final verdict on the removal of Cyrus Mistry as the chairman of Tata Sons came as a major win for the Tata Sons group. The issue dubbed as Tata vs Mistry case is going on for the last four years.

The Supreme Court bench backed the sacking of Cyrus Mistry, the then Chairman of the Tata Group. The legendary Indsuytralia Ratan Tata took to Twitter to share his happiness of winning the case.

In a post, he shared on his official Twitter handle, Ratan Tata said, he is grateful for the verdict and appreciates the judgment. Talking about the verdict, Ratan Tata said, it is not about winning or losing, but a validation of

"It is not an issue of winning or losing. After relentless attacks on my integrity and the ethical conduct of the group, the judgement upholding all the appeals of Tata Sons is a validation of the values and ethics that have always been the guiding principles of the group, " his post reads.

Tracing back the case, the Tata Group removed Cyrus Mistry as the chairman of the over $100 billion salt-to-software Tata Group in 2016. In 2019, the company law tribunal  National Company Law Appellate Tribunal (NCLAT) has issued orders to reinstall Mistry in his post. The case is going on since then.

Coming to the issue of the shares, the Supreme Court bench left the matter to Tata Sons and Cyrus Mistry and directed the parties to take a legal route to sort out the issues pertaining to the shares and stakes.
