The Apex court has ruled out that the states should consider giving importance to the online delivery of alcohol. The court said that Home delivery will help in observing social distancing and stop people from gathering in large numbers.

The Constitutional bench said that it cannot give any orders on the liquor sales and added that the states should see that people should follow social distancing at the liquor outlets.

The liquor shops in some states were started after the Centre gave some relaxations as the nationwide lockdown has entered the third phase which was imposed by Prime Minister Narendra Modi as the positive cases of the virus are increasing rapidly.
