A Manipur Woman alleges an Immigration Officer at Delhi Airport resorted to racial harassment by making objectionable remarks on her physical appearance.
Monika Khangembam who is a Corporate employee was on her way to South Korea for attending a conference. That's when an Immigration Officer at Delhi Airport commented she doesn't look like an Indian and even asked how many states are there in India. Monika was helpless and she has no other option but answer his queries.
After this incident, Monika took to Facebook to vent out her anger on racial discrimination. She mentions 'Pakka Indian Ho?', 'How many States are there in India?' and 'How many states Manipur share borders with?'. When Monika conveyed to him that she is already late, The Immigration Office commented that the aircraft willn't take off without her. Monika wants to lodge a complaint after her return from Seoul.
Monika's outburst has took the social media by storm and it once again thrown a light on discrimination faced by people from the Northeast.
