Manmohan Singh breaks silence on Note ban

Former Prime Minister Manmohan Singh termed the way NDA Government has implemented Demonetization as a 'Monumental Mismanagement/Failure'.

Referring to the people who lost their lives standing in queues in front of Banks and ATMs, Manmohan Singh questioned PM Modi if there is any other country where people were unable to withdraw the deposited money. He also pointed out that 60-65 people lost their lives since November 9th.

Manmohan Singh claims to be in favor of curbing Black Money. He, however, faults the implementation of demonetization by the Centre. 'PM asks to wait for 50 days. But, Its detrimental for poor to survive for so long. Rural India is dependent on Cooperative Banks which aren't operational after Nov 8th. This kind of implementation would impact Agriculture and Small Scale Industries. PM should come up with constructive proposal to implement the scheme,' he demanded.

Finance Minister Arun Jaitley shot back at Congress by alleging corruption is at an alarming rate during Manmohan Singh's 10 years rule.
