Maoists on Monday abducted three Telugu Desam Party leaders of GH Veedhi. This include TDP Mandal Party President Mamidi Balayya Padal, Senior Party Leader Vandalam Balayya and District Committee Member Mukkala Mahesh. All the three TDP Leaders were forcibly taken away from their residences at Kothaguda village in Visakha agency.
CPI (Maoist) Party East Division Secretary Kailasam on Tuesday morning sent a letter demanding AP Government to halt bauzite mining in the agency. He also sought withdrawal of Paramilitary Forces from the area and asked Government to stop harassing the Tribals.
The kidnap of three TDP Leaders is only intended to make State Government call off the bauxite mining. Maoists, however, didn't mention anything about the safety of the kidnapped leaders.
