Russian Tennis sensation Maria Sharapova is one of the most beautiful and popular sportsperson across the World. In the doping test ahead of Australian Open this year, It came to limelight that Sharapova has relied on banned drug 'Meldonium'.

Even though there is a possibility of imposing a ban for a period of 4 years, ITF Tribunal brought it down to 2 years after reaching the conclusion that Sharapova's ignorance over ban on 'Meldonium' from January 1st this year has led to this situation.

Expressing her displeasure over the judgement, Sharapova told: 'By imposing a suspension on me for 2 years, ITF Tribunal has passed an unanimous resolution that I haven't deliberately used the banned drug 'Meldonium'. I can't accept this stringent punishment. Surely, I'm gonna appeal against the Tribunal verdict in Sports Arbitration Court. My fans have been my support system and they keep communicating to me through social media. I will fight the battle to play tennis as early as possible'.
