Olympic bronze medalist MC Mary Kom broke down in front of mediapersons in Mumbai on Thursday while accusing the Indian Selectors of regional bias during Boxing Selection & Trails.
Mary Kom: "I get upset few times. I knew some of the referres and judges doesn't favour me. Yes, I might be from North-East but still an Indian".
The accusation of Mary Kom is that Selectors preferred Haryana's Pinky Jangra instead of her even though she has repeatedly defeated her. "There are lot of controversies. I have proven many times I make a better choice, still Selectors support her," she alleges.
Selectors dropped Mary Kom from the Indian contingent for the Commonwealth Games 2014 and choose Pinky Jangra in her place, after Pinky defeated Mary in the trial of 51 kg Category. However, Mary Kom alleges it was poorly judged and she should have been picked up.
