Massive Earthquake in Nepal: Over 500 Dead!

A 7.9 magnitude earthquake rattled Nepal at 11:41 AM on Saturday. US Geographical Survey said the epicentre is 50 miles away from Nepal capital Kathmandu and 9.3 miles deep.

Nepal's Ministry of Home Affairs issued an official statement saying over 500 people were feared dead.

Historic Buildings and Massive Structures had tumbled to the ground in Kathmandu. Evalanches were reported on Mount Everest, a development which forced Mountaineers run for cover. Hospitals in Kathmandu were crowded with injured people.

Tremors were felt in New Delhi, Uttar Pradesh, West Bengal, Jharkhand and Andhra Pradesh as well. One person breathed his last in West Bengal due to the quake and no casualties were reported in other parts of the country.
