TV9 Promoter Srini Raju has been contemplating on selling his 80 percent stake in the media house. Finally, The Businessman got a lucrative offer he can't reject from Megha Engineering and Infrastructure Limited (MEIL) promoted by Krishna Reddy & My Home Group owned by Rameshwar Rao. While Megha is going to have a lion's share in TV9, My Home Group would own a minor stake.
If the buzz is true, Srini Raju and TV9 CEO Ravi Prakash will transfer their stake to Special Purpose Vehicle (SPV) so as to transfer it to Megha & My Home.
TV9 has been able to remain at No.1 Position in Telugu States since several years. It also have regional channels such TV9 Kannada, TV9 Gujarati and TV9 Marathi. Whether or not Ravi Prakash retains his stake in TV9 and continues to be CEO is a million dollar question.
In the recent past, New Channels 10TV and 99TV which were owned by Left Parties have been acquired by interested parties. TV9 will be the third channel to go on sale.
