Soon after the passage of Telangana Bill in both the houses of the Parliament, TRS leadership seems to have gone back on their promise to merger with Congress.
Speaking to National Media, KCR described the merger talk between TRS and Congress as just a rumor and clarified no such developments has taken place until now.
Sources say, KCR isn't keen on merger as all the recent surveys have declared TRS as the single largest party in Telangana state. Even TRS Leaders and Cadre haven't be ready for merger as they will be forced to make a lot of compromises on seat sharing if merger happens before 2014 polls.
As a result, TRS will be open to pre-poll alliance with Congress instead of merger.
