A powerful claymore mine was detected by police at Machilipatnam of Krishna District. The explosive material which was connected a camera flash was identified at primary health centre (PHC) close to a Hanuman temple in Machilipatnam.
The explosive was reportedly placed at the compound wall of the house belonging to a relative of Supreme Court advocate Vikas Bansode. Vikas is married to the daughter of Krishna district former SP Krishna Prasad. Vikas regularly visits Manchilipatnam and participates in various social programmes like health camps
The house where police recovered the bomb belongs to Krishna Prasad's mother-in-law and Vikas will supposedly to visit the place. Vikas earlier worked as adviser of former Karnataka governor H.R. Bhardwaj and also arguing cased related to the mining cases. Bansode is allegedly facing threat to life from the iron ore mining mafia and he has Z Plus security.
It is suspected that the bomb was intended to attack Bansode. Bansode lodged a complaint with the Machilipatnam police. Police have recovered the device and it has been sent to the forensic laboratory. Back in 2012 former CBI offical V.V. Lakshminarayana wrote letters that Gali Janardhan Reddy's men were planning to attack Bansode.
