Minister suffers rat bite, gets admitted to hospital

In a bizarre case, a minister suffered rat bite and had to be admitted to the hospital. The minister was bitten by a rat in a government-run guesthouse. The minister felt that it was a snake bite and suffered a shock due to which his health condition deteriorated. It was only after it was confirmed that he was bitten by a rat, the minister's health improved.

The incident occurred in Uttar Pradesh The minister, Girish Chandra Yadav, was bitten by a rat while he was sleeping in the government guesthouse at night. He was on a two day tour of a remote area of the state. The minister felt he was bitten by a snake and suffered a shock. His health condition worsened.

He was soon rushed to a government hospital, where the doctors attending on him confirmed that it was not a snake bite. They said he was bitte by a rat. On knowing that he was not bitten by a snake, the minister's health condition dramatically improved.  He has later been discharged from the hospital after treatment.

Significantly, the incident occurred in Uttar Pradesh, where a "double engine" government is in power. UP claims to be making tremendous progress under Yogi Adityanath's leadership. However, the condition of the government guesthouses is such that even ministers are suffering rat bites.
