Addressing a daily briefing on the COVID-19 situation of the country, Joint Secretary in the Health Ministry Lav Agarwal said the Ministry of Health have identified 170 districts as hotspots which has high number of COVID-19 cases.
He said the hotspots and green zones are identified and the government will act accordingly. Except the essential services, there is a complete halt in movement, and door to door survey will be conducted in the hotspots, Lav Agarwal said.
He also said the special teams are working to collect samples for the latest coronavirus cases, and COVID-19 health centres would be set up for coronavirus patients.
So far, the number of COVID-19 cases across the country has reached 11,439, and the death toll has risen to 377. Among the infected, 1305 are discharged and, 9756 cases are active.
In the last 24 hours, 1076 new cases were registered, and 38 people have died. The highest number of corona-positive cases were reported in Maharashtra and Tamil Nadu states said, Lav Agarwal.
