Indian cricketer Amit Mishra responded to the summons issued by Bengaluru Cops in connection with the alleged assault of a woman in his hotel room with an SMS.
Reportedly, Police sought Amit Mishra presence in Bengaluru for questioning and tried to convey this message to him through various means including SMS, Post, Email and Phone Call. Finally, Mishra sent an SMS to the cops assuring them that he would be in Bengaluru next week for the questioning. Cops even took a screen shot of the message he had sent as a proof. A chargesheet will be filed only after recording the statement of Amit Mishra and after further inquiry.
The Complainant met Amit Mishra through a common friend few years ago. Cops have recorded the statements of hotel staff and they were waiting for medical test reports to proceed further.
Meanwhile, BCCI ordered for a probe into the allegations against Amit Mishra. His participation in Today's ODI match against South Africa looks uncertain.
