In a huge embarrassment to the Congress Party, a party MLA's son kidnapped a minor girl, gangraped her and was found to be blackmailing the girl by threatening to leak her nude pics. This incident happened in Rajasthan and is now threatening to blow out into a major controversy that has put the Congress on the backfoot.
The perpetrator of this heinous crime is son of Alwar Rajgarh MLA Jauhari Lal Meena. He and two of his associates kidnapped a Class X student from Raini in Dousa district.
They took her to a hotel on Mahua-Mandawar Road, where they sedated her and repeatedly gangraped. The culprits also took the photos of the girl and have begun blackmailing her by threatening to leak the nude pics.
Though the incident occurred on February 24, the issue came to light only recently as the girl approached the plice with a complaint against the MLA's son. She told the police that he threatened to leak her explicit videos.
The issue has now assumed political colour with the BJP jumping into the fray. State BJP chief Satish Poonia said that the government was trying to shield the culprits as they belong to the ruling party.
He said the women were not safe in Rajasthan. Bowing to the pressure from the BJP, the police booked a case under POCSO act against the MLA's son and his accomplices.
