In a huge embarrassment for the ruling YSRCP in Andhra Pradesh, a sitting MLC has been arrested in connection with the murder of his former driver. MLC Ananta Udaya Bhaskar aka Ananta Babu has been arrested by the Kakinada police on charges of murdering his former driver Subramanyam. He has been booked under the acts pertaining to murder and also as per the provisions of the SC ST Atrocities Corporation.

Sources say that Subramanyam had worked as a driver for Ananta Udaya Bhaskar. Subramanyam borrowed Rs 70000 from the MLC. Subramanyam's wife Aparna claims that Ananta Babu's was afraid that Subramanyam would make public his dalliances with women. So, he killed Subramanyam, she said.
Meanwhile, Subramanyam's wife and parents also claimed that the MLC offered a government job to one member of the family and provide a contract job to another if they did not lodge any complaint with the police. He also offered Rs 5 lakh to the parents. However, the family members refused to take the bait.
