Modi celebrates Diwali with Troops

Prime Minister Narendra Modi choose to spend Diwali with the troops at a location close to the Chinese border in Himachal Pradesh. He interacted with IndoTibetan Border Police and Dogra Scouts to boost their morale.

Addressing the troops, NaMo said he has come to there as everybody spends Diwali with their own. Dedicating Diwali to the armed forces who were sacrificing their lives for the Nation, He thanked all those who joined the Sandesh2Soldiers campaign.

Modi claimed he fulfilled the promise of One Rank-One Pension (OROP) scheme made to the ex-Servicemen. He maintained the issue has been kept unresolved for around four decades and only NDA made it a reality even though it puts a burden of Rs 5,500 crore.

PM told India's strength lies in unity in diversity. He added, Every citizen has got the responsibility to curb separatist tendencies to protect our country.

Usually, BSF Jawans and Pak Rangers exchange sweets and greetings on Diwali, Eid and Independence Day. This time, BSF refused to continue the tradition in protests against the terrorism promoted from Pak soil.
