Prime Minister Narendra Modi had always dreamt of achieving Congress Mukt Bharat. He reached so close to achieving this dream with promising results in Assembly Polls of three North-East States.
BJP & its Alliance Partners have collectively obtained the magic figure to form the government in Tripura and Nagaland. Ruling Left Party in Tripura and NPF+ in Nagaland fell short of required seats.
Few hours after the counting began on Saturday, It appeared like Congress gonna retain power in Meghalaya. The situation changed drastically by evening and only a hung assembly is possible now. BJP may form government with the support of NPP and Independents here.
Tripura:
BJP+: 43 Seats (+43); Left: 16 Seats (-33); Congress: 0 Seats (-10)
Nagaland:
NDPP+: 32 Seats (+31); NPF+: 26 Seats (-12); Congress: 0 Seats (-8)
Meghalaya:
Congress: 22 Seats (-7); NPP: 19 Seats (+17); BJP: 2 Seats (+2); Others: 17 Seats (-12)
In the 7 states of North East region, BJP holds power in Assam, Arunachal Pradesh and Manipur. Now, Tripura and Nagaland joins the list. Even Meghalaya will be included if everything false in place. Strengthening the party from booth level worked in favour of BJP. Strategies of Ram Madhav and Dev Dhar who worked as Modi's Manager in Varanasi clicked well in Tripura.
People of the three border states believed there will be more security to their lives if BJP rules them, considering the situation post surgical strikes against Pakistan and Doklam standoff with China. Even Modi's poll promises fetched votes in abundance.
