Prime Minister Narendra Modi held a video conference with the Chief Ministers of the states as the closing period of the third phase is fast approaching. As per the schedule, it will get lifted on the 17th of May.

"We stressed that people should stay where they are. But it's human nature to want to go home and so we had to modify or change our decisions. Despite that, we have to make sure that the disease doesn't spread and go to villages, that's our big challenge," Narendra Modi said at the conference.

This marks the fifth video conference of Narendra Modi with the Chief Ministers of the states since the deadly outbreak entered India. In this conference, reportedly Union Home Minister Amit Shah was also present.

There is a chance of Narendra Modi discussing the lockdown exit strategy with the Chief Ministers as Modi took suggestions from the Chief Ministers in the previous video-conference.

If the information given by the sources are to be believed, West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee expressed her dissatisfaction over the treatment of the Centre when it comes to her state.

She asked the Centre government to not play politics in this crucial time and said that the state has extra problems when compared to other states as West Bengal is close to International borders.
