PM Modi launches Hyderabad Metro Rail

Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Tuesday afternoon launched Hyderabad Metro Rail. Telangana CM K Chandrasekhar Rao and IT Minister K Taraka Rama Rao took part in the inauguration. The trio took the first ride in Metro covering four stations.

Modi took to his Twitter page to share: 'Launched the Hyderabad Metro, a significant infrastructure project that will benefit the citizens of Hyderabad'.

Hyderabad Metro Rail is expected to ferry 17 lakh passengers per day. It have three Corridors and 24 Stations in the 30-km stretch.     

The basic price of Metro Ticket is being fixed as Rs 10. As much as Rs 60 will be charged for travelling a distance of 30 km.

Initially, Each Metro Train will have three coaches and each one of them can carry 330 passengers. Later, The coaches will be increased to six depending on the demand.

Metro Rail will be operated from 6 am to 10 pm initially. Depending on the traffic, It may get rescheduled to 5.30 am to 11 pm.
