Modi Scores 25, Rahul Just 7

Update: 2019-10-21 05:13 GMT
Modi is well past his sixties, while Rahul is a good 15 years younger.  But when it comes to electioneering Narendra Modi is head and shoulders above in terms of energy levels and hard work. Modi, despite his busy schedule, has addressed as many as 25 public meetings in the run up to the elections in Haryana and Maharashtra. Despite the BJP being fancied as a sure-fire winner, Modi crisscrossed both the states and addressed public meetings in various key towns where the BJP is locked in tough battles.

But, Rahul Gandhi barely addressed seven rallies in both the states. Initially, he was not even available for the campaign. He joined the campaign only at the later stage. His mother and AICC chief Sonia Gandhi addressed public meeting despite her frail health. What more, Rahul Gandhi did not find himself being warmly welcomed in Haryana. In Haryana, former CM Bhupinder Hooda ignored him. He missed both the meetings Rahul Gandhi addressed in the state citing some reason or the other as he feels that it is Rahul Gandhi who has encouraged his arch rival Ashok Tanwar in the party.

On the other hand, Modi not only managed to take along the regional leaders. In fact, in Maharashtra, he even used expressions like Narender in Delhi and Devender in Mumbai alluding to Devendra Fadnavis. Sadly, Rahul seems to have missed another opportunity to redeem himself.
