Modi-Shah-Nadda Combine Shocks Yeddiyurappa

Update: 2020-06-09 04:46 GMT
Chief Minister of Karnataka Yeddiyurappa got a shock of his life when the list of Rajya Sabha candidates that he had sent for approval of the national leadership got completely rejected. Not just that! Without even consulting him, the high command  has sent three names.

Two of the names – Yerranna Bhimappa Kaddi and Ashok Jasti – were totally out of the blue not just for the Chief Minister, but also for his associates and even political watchers. Both Kaddi and Jasti were relatively unknown grassroots level workers and are largely not known outside their constituencies.  This came as a huge surprise for Yeddiyurappa. The buzz in the Yeddiyurappa camp is about the rationale behind the national leadership's decision. A minister, who played a key role in preparing Yeddiyurappa's list said he had never heard the names of Kadi and Jasti all his life. "I have been in politics for so long. But, I have never heard these names, " he commented.

This decision of the Centre is being seen as a direct rebuff to Yeddiyurappa's style of politics. Yeddiyurappa has all along been trying to push through his supporters and marginalise those who do not beong to his camp. By selecting totally unknown candidates, the high command has sent a stern message to him.
