Modi's Namaskar becomes a problem for this MP

Update: 2019-11-23 04:39 GMT
His past association with the BJP and his acquaintance with Narendra Modi even before he became the Prime Minister seem to be costing dearly for Narsapuram MP Raghuramakrishnam Raju. The other day, Modi himself came to him and greeted him. This one incident has turned the MP a suspect in the eyes of the YSRCP. A couple of days earlier, Raghuramakrishnam Raju made an impassioned plea in support of Telugu as a medium of instruction. His speech ran counter to the YSRCP official stand. The party is introducing English as a medium of instruction.

In the meanwhile, there was a comment from BJP MP Sujana Chowdary that several from the ruling YSRCP were in touch with the BJP. This comment has suddenly made Raju  a suspect in the eyes of the YSRCP's inner core. To assuage the feelings and to explain his stand, the MP had to rush to Amaravati to meet the Chief Minister. Even while claiming that the meeting was cordial and informal, he revealed that he had explained his position on various issues to YS Jagan Mohan. He said he knew Modi even before he became the PM and was a former BJP leader. So, it was only natural that Modi greeted him. There was nothing more than this, he explained.

Interestingly, some time ago, Modi personally greeted YSRCP MP Vijaysai Reddy and asked about his well-being. This incident too created flutters, but in an altogether different manner. This time around, Modi greeted Raju and this has set cat among the YSRCP pigeons.
