Ex-Indian Cricketer to be next T-Congress President!

Update: 2016-06-29 05:36 GMT

Congress High Command seems to be relying more on Professional Cricketers-turned-Politicians to lead the party, especially in the case of United AP & Telangana. At first, Kiran Kumar Reddy who served as a Speaker in YSR's tenure was made Chief Minister post his sudden demise. If the speculations are to be believed, Former Indian Skipper Mohammad Azharuddin is the strong contender to become the next Telangana Congress President.

In 2014 Polls, T-Congress won 19 MLA and 2 MP seats. Out of them, 7 MLAs and 1 MP had already shifted loyalties to the ruling TRS.

Sonia Gandhi believes Leadership issues and Group War within the party is the reason behind the defections. She seems to be of the feeling that promoting Azharuddin would be a good choice as he is quite popular and have the capability of attracting Muslims towards the party.

Azharuddin's terms as MP ended in 2014. He unsuccessfully contested the last General Election and hence mayn't turn down if High Command asks him to focus on Telangana.
