Mohan Babu served as Rajya Sabha Member in Telugu Desam Party led by NT Rama Rao. He, however, stayed away from politics since late 90s. After a long gap of almost two decades, Collection King is getting ready to take a plunge into active politics.
In a recent interview, Mohan Babu said: 'I must definitely become active during next elections and support the party which is in my mind. Have the responsibility to tell truth to the people. People are always niceâ¦they are clever enough to decide if the Leader who is speaking is a Good Person or Thief. They knew what kind of a person I am. So, I would speak with them'.
There is buzz that Mohan Babu's role in next elections won't be limited to just Campaigning. He might be contesting on YSR Congress ticket either from Srikalahasti or Venkatagiri Constituency. Whereas, Collection King made it clear he isn't in any party as of now.
The 67-Year-Old slammed defector MLAs for changing party due to cash bags and posts. 'To whom did people vote? People voted to you (Jumping MLAs) just because you belong to a particular party. If you shift party after winning, It shows what kind of a character you have. I had even opposed when such things happened during NTR's first term as CM. In my film 'Brahma', I had included such a sequence as well. Have no intention to target any particular individual here. If you don't like a party or party chief, Then submit your resignation but jumping parties isn't the right thing to do,' he said.
