A petition filed in Bombay High Court on Thursday seeking probe into the death of Police Constable Ravindra Patil who is the prime witness in Salman Khan's hit-and-run case is going bring more problems for the Bollywood Star.
The Petitioner, a Pune-based activist, alleges Ravindra Patil's death was suspicious. He now sought an enquiry into the death of the constable.
Police Department has appointed Ravindra Patil as security for Salman Khan after the actor complained there is threat to his life. Salman drove his land cruiser over the pavement dwellers in Bandra on September 8th, 2002. Ravindra Patil who is sitting beside the Star in the vehicle was the prime witness in the case. There was pressure on Patil to change his statement in favour of Salman and he even went into hiding for several months. Police Department has dismissed him from duty for absconding. Within months, Ravindra Patil was found on Mumbai streets suffering from Tuberculosis and passed away in hospital on October 4th, 2007
