Even as the BJP is fighting to prove itself in the upcoming Tirupati Lok Sabha bypolls, it is finding that there is a whale of difference between the reports given to the party leadership and the actual ground situation. BJP state presdent for Andhra Pradesh Somu veerraju found this out for himself the other day.
While the reports given to the state office suggest that booth level committees were formed in over 1500 booths in Tirupati Lok Sabha constituency, the truth is different. A preliminary observation has shown that the details funished in over 700 booths are faulty and incomplete. It was found that the names and phone numbers in the lists did not match and in some cases, workers of other parties were mentioned as BJP activists.
Now, Somu Veeraju has appointed a five member team to verify the lists thoroughly. He is said to have asked the BJP local leaders as to how the party can fight the polls with such faulty lists of non-existent workers. An overhaul is now under way. Tirupati will soon have a bypoll in view of the death of the sitting MP Balli Durgaprasad of the YSRCP.
