2017 Tollywood Drug Case: MP Revanth Reddy Files PIL To Transfer The Case

Telangana Congress MP Revanth Reddy who has been battling to transfer the multiple drug cases registered in 2017 to the central agencies for investigation has moved the High Court in this regard yet again.

The MP has knocked on the doors of the Telangana High Court and filed Public interest litigation(PIL) seeking directives to transfer the drug cases to the central agencies.

During the hearing, the Telangana State Excise Department told the court that there is no need of transferring the cases to other agencies as the investigations of the multiple drug cases have completed.

The twist in the case came after the law enforcement agency Directorate of Enforcement (ED) reportedly told the court that the state Excise Department is not sharing the details of the case investigation.

After hearing the arguments of the parties, the Telangana High Court has adjourned the next hearing of the case for two weeks and directed MP Revanth Reddy to file a counter-affidavit.

Tracing back the drug case. The infamous drug case was surfaced in June 2017 in Hyderabad. Even prominent names including directors and heroes were linked to the case which is dubbed as the Tollywood Drug case.
