The crisis in Samajwadi Party has only worsened after Samajwadi Party chief Mulayam Singh expelled his son and Uttar Pradesh CM Akhilesh Yadav from party for six years. He also sacked SP General Secretary and Rajya Sabha MP Ram Gopal Yadav who is Akhilesh's Loyalist for alleged anti-party activities.
Mulayam Singh claimed he took the tough call to save Samajwadi Party. He went on to say party is more important not individuals.
All isn't well between Akhilesh Yadav's Camp & Mulayam's brother Shivpal Yadav Camp since few months. Recently, Mualayam Singh released the list of SP Candidates for 200-plus Assembly Constituencies for upcoming UP polls. Within days, Akhilesh Yadav released a fresh list of candidates favoring his loyalists. Soon, Mulayam Singh issued a show cause notice to Akhilesh for issuing a parallel list. Thereafter, He expelled his son from the party. Now, UP Governor may ask Akhilesh Yadav to prove his majority in the Assembly.
Following his expulsion, Akhilesh Yadav called for a meeting with SP MLAs at 9.30 AM on Saturday. There is every possibility of SP splitting into two due to the recent developments.
